CHAMPION GOLFER OF THE YEAR

This year it's the top 60 players that will make the cut and be playing towards a 4 man shoot out over the last 6 holes in the grand final to find our champion on Thursday 29th August.

It will put competitors under intense pressure, and they will have to perform in front of the crowds. Each qualifying round will be run in conjunction with the club Stableford’s and each event will have an optional sweep of £5.

The sweep will be paid as follows:

60% of pot to winner on the day
30% of pot to second
10% of pot to third
£10 to the best gross

If you wish to pay into the weekly sweep, please hand in exact cash in the pro shop (no coins allowed).

Countbacks will apply for the sweep.

The ball must on the green.

All scores must be entered electronically as normal, no cash prizes or scores will be entered to the leaderboard if they are not entered on the IG app or scoring machine in foyer, cards must still be signed and posted in the box as normal.

Any players disqualified by the club for whatever reason will not receive the sweep monies.

To help in the Admin, any scores under 30 points will not be recorded on the Frankie score sheet.

Competition is from White tees and is limited to players receiving no more than 1 shot per hole (18 shots), and to normal handicap allowance including slope allocation.

Handicaps can be adjusted by the committee under general play when we are not in conjunction with club pros stableford.

The competitors best 4 stableford scores will be recorded from this first event, Thursday 4th April until the final qualifying round on Thursday 22nd August and will count towards the grand final shoot out. The grand final will take place on Thursday 29th August and start around 1pm to determine the Champion golfer of the year.

Maximum Handicap is 18 off White tees

In the grand final the top 4 stableford scores after 13 holes will go into a 4 man 6 hole shoot out. You will start the shoot out by playing the 13th hole again in front of a raucous crowd.

You will be playing for a pot of one thousand pounds!

The winner will receive £700
Runner up £200
Third place £100
Fourth place - Pat on the back

Scores will be reset to 0 for the 6 hole shoot out.

The winner of the tour will receive a 5 point head start in the grand final.

2nd will receive a 4 point start
3rd will receive a 3 point start
4th will receive a 2 point start
5th will receive a 1 point start

Every Majors day there will be 2 points for the overall winner to add to his tally on finals day, or a point each in the event of level scores, back 9 scoring will come into play.

Every other competitor will start the grand final from 0, meaning it is all to play for and everyone still has a chance. Any ties in the tour will be decided on a best score from the 4 rounds. Any ties in the grand final for the 6 hole shoot out will be decided by a 100 yard pitch shot closest to the 13th hole, same applies if there is a tie for overall winner (100 yard pitch on the 18th).

If one of the final 5 leaders cannot make the final, their head start will be cancelled and not passed on to the next player.

The winner will receive the new Darren Grice trophy in memory of all the hard work and effort Darren put in to making this event the success that it is today.

In honour of Gary there will be a trophy for the player with the best 4 cards over the season.

The Tournament committee consists of Mark Rozy, Graham Fisher, Lee hutchinson who will run the event and the tournament committees decision is Final.
